Christopher Blue advises clients on property and infrastructure development projects, and environmental and town planning issues. Christopher has acted for developers, financiers and the Queensland Government.
Christopher has also lectured at University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology on environmental law and town planning.
Experience
Christopher’s experience in property and infrastructure projects includes advising:
- Bloomberg in relation to the development of Riparian Plaza, a landmark building in Brisbane comprising commercial, residential and retail components
- the Department of Public Works in relation to the Roma Street redevelopment project, including the Roma Street Parkland and the Roma Street Residential Precinct
- Lend Lease in relation to the redevelopment of Sunshine Plaza shopping centre at Maroochydore
- Lend Lease in relation to its acquisition of the Suncorp Retail Property Portfolio
- Troon Golf in relation to the management of golf course facilities throughout Australasia and the Middle East
- the financiers of the Brisbane Airport Rail Link (Airtrain) in relation to the property, environmental and planning aspects of that project
- SimsMetal in relation to environmental and planning matters concerning its operations in Queensland
- Coles Myer and Suncorp in relation to the development of the $200 million Cairns Central shopping centre development, involving a volumetric subdivision over railway property
- the developer in relation to the development and sale of the Watermark Residential Apartments at Kangaroo Point, and
- the Freshwater Development Company in relation to the development and sale of the Freshwater Apartments at New Farm.
Professional background
Christopher holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Queensland University of Technology. Christopher was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1990 and has also been admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
