Brendan has had extensive experience in the financial and commercial aspects of infrastructure projects, acquisitions/privatisations and project/structured financings in various jurisdictions including in Australasia, Asia, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Brendan's expertise includes exposure to both common and civil law jurisdictions and the use of a number of different financing sources including commercial, export credit, multi-lateral and capital markets.

Brendan has experience in the power, gas, road, rail, resources and industrial sectors.
Recent examples of Brendan's experience includes:
- Independent power projects—acting for the sponsors or financiers of numerous independent power projects including the West Kimberley Power and Gas Project (consisting of five power projects and an LNG facility), La Higuera Power Project in Chile, the Canunda Windfarm Project and the Loy Yang B Power Project.
- Power acquisitions/privatisations—acting for the sponsors, bidders or financiers of several significant power privatisations or acquisitions including the Yallourn W Power Station, Flinders Power, Hazelwood Power and the Kondapalli Power Project (India).
- Capital markets—acting for the financiers of various infrastructure capital market issues including ETSA Utilities, ElectraNet, Alinta and Envestra.
- Transport and industrial—acting for the sponsors or financiers in transport (road and rail) and industrial projects (including aluminium smelters, steel plants and oil/petrochemical facilities), including the Burrup Ammonia Plant in Western Australia.
- Resources—acting for the sellers, buyers or financiers of resources projects including the financing of a diamond mine in Angola and an oil and gas field in Mauritania.
Professional background
Brendan has completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from Monash University. Brendan was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1993, and has subsequently worked in Australia, London and Hong Kong.
